At least she chose a great bag: the Givenchy Sacca Tote has long been one of my favorites, and Givenchy has been extremely popular recently with fashionistas in the know. It’s one of those brands that’s only recognizable to other fashion people, and sometimes that’s exactly what you want. If you’re a snob.

Madonna’s run her course over at Louis Vuitton; for the luxury company’s next campaign, It-Girl model Lara Stone will step into the spotlight, gracing the spring-summer campaign, which will be shot by photography great Steven Meisel.
Meanwhile, for their sunglasses campaign, Vuitton enlisted artist/designer/socialite/businessman André Saraiva to photograph his fab friends (such as Vahina Giocante, Annabelle Dexter-Jones, and Oliver Zahm) in the bright and funky shades at The Standard in New York. The label apparently wanted a youthful, up-all-night feel for the campaign.
Sounds like they’re trying to entice a younger buyer – maybe they should lower their prices if that’s the case.

2009 is definitely her year!
The fabulous and always fashion-forward Lady GaGa will receive the Stylemaker Award on Monday night at the 13th annual Accessories Council Excellence Awards.
The award will be given to her by designer and friend Marc Jacobs who we all know brought back his previously canceled Fashion Week after-party just for the Lady!
Congrats! You deserve it!

It was inevitable, Victoria Beckham entered the fashion fray via a collection of dresses and now that the she’s released her second collection to much fan fare, there is talk that the fashion WAG is set to add a line of shoes and handbags to her namesake brand. “Victoria is tired of promoting other brands. If she wears Christian Louboutin or Hermès people go and buy it,” a source told the Sun. “She thought, ‘Why can’t I do this with my own line?’”

First Lady Michelle Obama covers the December issue of Glamour. The issue honors Mrs. Obama with the magazine’s Special Recognition award for mentoring young women. Congrats! Doesn’t she look great!?
