Gwyneth Paltrow’s having a very busy season. She inexplicably got named People Magazine’s Sexiest Woman of the year. Her online magazine Goop has been under fire for suggesting readers spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on luxury designer clothing. Everything she endorses is insanely expensive. However, she can’t help that she’s wealthy and isn’t ashamed of enjoying it. Whether others like it or not, she gives advice and those who can afford to take it love her for it.
The rest of us can just sit back and watch her style herself to perfection. She was recently spotted carrying this black and white Celine Luggage tote in New York. When she carried it in the evening, it really complemented her outfit nicely. She always manages to look pristine and WASP-ish when she dresses up. However, when she carried it the morning after she just looked like a regular person without the professionally done hair and makeup. But kudos to her for being able to wear leather skinny jeans after two kids. Many of us can’t do that when we’re in our 20’s and she puts us to shame in her 40’s!
Gwyneth doesn’t look like a superstar in these pics taken of her at LAX, but she was and still is one of Hollywood’s A listers. She was once the girl who nearly married Brad Pitt. She comes from a Hollywood family, has a string of critically acclaimed and blockbuster hits. British women recently polled to choosing her over all others as inspiration at the plastic surgeons’ office.
With her star power, she doesn’t have much left to prove. She knows WE know she’s got it all. So that leaves no need to tote around branded luggage. Here she is, low key as ever, carrying a bag which isn’t flashy but sure is hard to get your hands on. It’s an elite first piece from the studio of Hedi Slimane, Yves Saint Laurent’s new head designer.
While it remains to be seen where the fashion house will go under his direction, his first bag is a good indication. The no-frills, no flash, no logo style is on point with other big name fashion brands like Celine and Givenchy, which are also known for creating easily recognizable looks without the use of logos or Louis Vuitton style monograms. But would you pay thousands for this bag?
Gwyneth Paltrow stepped out last week wearing a stylish dress from Stella McCartney and carrying a Coach Madison Gathered Leather Zip Clutch to attend the Coach 70th Anniversary Celebration in Beijing, China.
In April, Gwyneth Paltrow was spotted exiting Coach headquarters with company creative director Reed Krakoff. Soon after, Coach confirmed that Paltrow was set to serve as brand ambassador for an international campaign to mark Coach’s 70th anniversary this Fall and next Spring. Krakoff called Paltrow “a natural choice . . . She embodies the spirit, energy and elegance of the Coach brand.”
Peter Lindbergh shot Paltrow on the top of the Tudor City skyscrapers in Manhattan for ads that will only be used in international issues of Vogue, Vanity Fair, InStyle and Harper’s Bazaar.
Planting a garden filled with mint, kale, basil, and salvia isn’t the only way Gwyneth Paltrow is getting ready for the warmer weather.
In the 38-year-old star’s latest post on her healthy-living website GOOP.com, she shares her spring fashion picks.
But dressing like the actress, author and lifestyle guru is going to cost you: $18,301 to be exact.
Paltrow, who is known for her super chic style, teamed up with luxury online retailer Net-a-Porter to put together six outfit concepts revolving around key wardrobe “basics” including a $785 Stella McCartney jersey tank dress, a $1840 Chloe silk jacket, and a $90 Kain T-shirt. The least expensive item is a Splendid cotton tank for $44.
The svelte star, who poses in each look (including a bikini), calls her sartorial picks “great pieces which are versatile enough to wear to the office and during your summer leisure time.”
This is all great but Gwyneth forgot to give her readers an alternative in pricing and now they are asking for it. If she can team up with net-a-porter.com I’m sure she could do the same with more affordable brands like COACH… especially since she’s their New Brand Ambassador! Most of us can spend $300 on a new bag but $3000 could make some people lose sleep at night… just saying.
Gwyneth Paltrow will serve as Coach’s brand ambassador for its upcoming international campaign, marking the company’s 70th anniversary!
Paltrow told press, “I grew up in New York City and I’ve always thought of Coach as the quintessential New York brand. I’ll never forget getting my first Coach bag,”
The ads, to be shot by Peter Lindbergh on a Manhattan rooftop, will be featured in Asia and Europe, including France, Spain, the U.K., Portugal, and China and will debut this fall and next spring.
Gwyneth is “a natural choice. She embodies the spirit, energy, and elegance of the Coach brand,” said the company’s president and executive creative director, Reed Krakoff.
According to reports in the NY Post, Gwyneth Paltrow was seen leaving the Coach headquarters in NYC with creative director of the brand, Reed Krakoff. After seeing the two together, there was much speculation that Gwyn was chosen to star in either a campaign for Coach or for Krakoff’s personal fashion brand.
Is it just me or does Gwyneth Paltrow look mega-serious in this pic? Maybe it’s the ultra-masculine ensemble – the black leather jacket and dark khaki pants are chic, but a little Top Gun in my book. I do dig her purse, though – a sort of tough and edgy leather number with a chain strap. Put your guesses on the handbag’s name and designer below!
