When she first traveled to Cambodia several years ago, Angelina Jolie had no idea how much the country would come to mean to her.
She explains her love for the country and it’s personal significance while in the Siem Reap province as cameras roll in her new mini-film for Louis Vuitton’s Core Values advertising.
The 36 year-old actress shared her memories of seeing the country for the first time when she was an actress on the Tomb Raider set and later as a U.N. Goodwill Ambassador.
Jolie describes how she was unaware that live landmines still dotted the countryside and that the extreme poverty but the beauty of the country and the people captured her heart.
The actress goes on to share how she met and decided to adopt her son Maddox and that he and younger brother Pax have developed a taste for snacking on crickets.
The 10 minute ad is cut between Jolie’s personal recollections and the gorgeous cinematography of the quiet landscape and people of Cambodia.

The latest installment of Louis Vuitton’s Core Values Campaign features actress and UN Goodwill ambassador Angelina Jolie.
Angelina agreed to be captured by famous photographer Annie Leibowitz for the campaign in Cambodia, a country which she first visited in 2000 for her role as Lara Croft and later returned on humanitarian missions, raising awareness of the dangers of landmines. She subsequently adopted her first child, Maddox, from a Cambodia orphanage.
The striking capture shows Jolie sitting in a traditional wooden boat in the province of Siem Reap, alongside her vintage Louis Vuitton Monogram Alto Holdall, a bag she has owned for many years.
I love the simplicity and calm nature of the photograph, the setting was well chosen to depict the travel theme of LV’s Core Values campaign. PurseBlog applauds beautiful Angelina for donating her fee for this campaign entirely to charity!

It’s official, Angelina Jolie is the new face of Louis Vuitton. She’s been spotted in Cambodia shooting with Annie Leibovitz. The ads are for the brand’s Core Values campaign and Angelina was reportedly paid $10-million for a series of print ads.
The reason for choosing Cambodia is clear. Angelina’s first son Maddox was adopted from there and the location is near and dear to her heart. However, unlike other philanthropic engagements, this one is promoting a luxury lifestyle inaccessible to majority of the people who live in the country.

Beauty brings the big bucks! Angelina Jolie is reportedly set to be the face of Louis Vuitton’s new ad campaign.
E! Online reports that she’ll get paid “close to $10 million” for the deal, believed to be the most lucrative of her career. The print-only campaign will reportedly launch this summer and will be advertised worldwide.
It is also being reported that famed photographer Annie Leibovitz will be taking the photos within the next couple of weeks.
A rep from Louis Vuitton had no comment on the possible new deal.
Jolie recently ended her contract with St. John, and collaborated on a jewelry line with Robert Procop, which benefits children who are victims of national conflict.
Past endorsers of Louis Vuitton include Jennifer Lopez and Madonna.
