Just because Sex and The City is over and so are the movies doesn’t mean SJP is going anywhere. Her role as a fashion icon has been cemented in style history. Olivia Palermo, current fashion It girl, just got married and guess what she wore to her wedding? The same exact blue Manolo Blahniks blue shoes Carrie Bradshaw wore for her wedding to Mr. Big! Not only did they serve as her “something blue”, they were a throwback to SATC and Marie Antoinette, the French queen and one of the biggest fashion It girls of all time. Here, Sarah Jessica is carrying a handbag from the range she’s designed herself, so you know her name will be around in the fashion world for years to come.
Rihann’as the kind of pop star that truly likes to reinvent her image often. It’s impossible to keep track of which hairstyle she had or when she had it because there have been so many! By now, she’s so successful as a musician and as a fashion icon that she gets sent designer bags and clothing as gifts the minute they hit the runway. So when she carries a backpack like this Stella McCartney Soft Faux-Leather one, you know it’s way ahead of the fashion curve.
Kourtney Kardashian recently hit the news after a recent flight back home to LA after a beach excursion to Cancun with her Celine Phantom Tote. First of all, how lucky are millionaire reality stars? They get to live in perennially 70 degree Los Angeles while the rest of the country freaks out because of snow and generally terrible weather conditions. People are trapped in pharmacies and Home Depots while their toddlers are trapped in classrooms overnight. Meanwhile, lucky people in sunny California fly down to Mexico to enjoy even sunnier locales! Just a little ironic.
The reason the Valley Girl accented Kourtney hit the news was because of a tussle with a passenger on the flight who told her kids to “shut their mouth.” She retaliated by telling the passenger to shut their mouths instead. Keepin it klassy, this Kardashian. What would you have done if it were your child though?
Sarah Michelle Gellar and husband Freddie Prince Jr. are doing really well these days. If you thought their golden careers are just a thing of the past, you can’t be blamed because they haven’t been around in a while. Sarah’s last show got canceled before anyone even realized she ways back on the air and Freddie’s last hyped movie was Summer Catch, which seems like a lifetime and a million fashion cycles ago. These days both of their shows are doing well – The Crazy Ones and The Witches of Eastwick.
Sarah was spotted get her golden locks touched up at an L.A. hair salon. She seemed in a good mood even though the pesky paparazzi were hounding her quite a bit for a couple of blocks. Her marriage is the equivalent of 30 years in Hollywood time so maybe that’s one thing she has to smile about. The second thing could be that really cute tassled Gucci shoulder bag. It’s definitely different because although Gucci is a very mainstream brand, we don’t often see their bags around too much. If it takes Sarah to bring them back, we’re all for it!
Lady Gaga showed up in New York this weekend looking like an absolutely fabulous cross between Marilyn Monroe and Jackie O. For once, her outfit is all class with a touch of drama, minus the over the top theatrics. Her nose seems to be shrinking but her hair is more vivacious than ever (even though it’s probably a wig.)
The bag she was spotted carrying was the Versace Medusa Tote, which is STILL not available in stores. You can shop for it online but it hasn’t been released to the pubic yet. The Medusa hardware in gold is Versace’s icon and they seem to be trying to make it as recognizable as Louis Vuitton’s monogram, Herme’s H and Chanel’s double C’s. We like it so we’re in favor of this new trend. So far, the one other celeb who’s been seen with this tote was Selena Gomez during Paris Fashion Week. She was carrying it during a meeting with Anna Wintour so you know this bag has the approval of fashion’s biggest power players. Future It bag for sure!
One of the celebs who wowed everyone at Paris Fashion Week was Blake Lively head to toe in Gucci. Seated next to Vogue head Anna Wintour in the front row, Blake cemented her status as a fashion icon and fashion darling Since getting married, the blonde bombshell has taken a break from acting. However, you may be seeing a lot more of her soon because she’s planning on launching a lifestyle and fashion company a la Gwyneth Paltrow.
The sparkly clutch she’s holding is from the Gucci Resort 2014 collection. It’s called the Hologram clutch and its one of the inspirations for the countless sparkly holographic clutches that you can now find in high street stores like Top Shop and Zara. It’s also a favorite clutch for other celebs as well and soon we’ll be posting different ways they’ve been spotted styling it.
Earlier this month, Vogue editor Anna Wintour canceled the Miley Cyrus cover shoot. Recently, another former Disney celeb was spotted leaving meeting with the queen of cool. Could this mean Selena is vying for her own Vogue cover? Selena is cute but her baby face just isn’t Vogue material – yet. In a couple of years when her cheekbones come out and she has more well-known music hits or movies in the pipeline, she might be the perfect cover girl.
The bag she was carrying was the Versace Medusa bag. Being an Italian brand, Versace is known for the Roman-influenced art in their designs. The figurehead on the top of the bag is supposed to be from Greek/Roman mythology. Medusa was known for her magical powers and unruly mane of snakes. Medusa is actually Versace’s brand icon and it makes the piece instantly recognizable as a part of the label.
For the last few weeks, various fashion weeks have been taking place around the world. Whenever this time of year comes around, you can be sure to see models, actors and anyone who’s anyone in the fashion biz dressed to the 9’s. Even Cara Delvigne, who dresses somewhat sloppily on her downtime (overalls, tanks and tennis shoes) made the effort to look like a lady. She looked downright glam with this Fendi Be Baguette.
The original Fendi Baguette was made popular by Sarah Jessica Parker’s character Carrie on Sex And The City in the late 90’s and early 00’s. The original version was smaller and slimmer as well. The updated version is more in sync with current trends. The solid, symmetrical shape and bold color are just right for 2013.
