Dakota Fanning has been a girl who we have watched grow up in the spotlight. She has gone from cute kid to elegant young Lady and no matter what she has had the acting chops. Beyond that she has certainly come into her own with the fashion sense. You can always count on Dakota to come out in a well fashioned outfit and she knows how to accessorize as well. In Paris fashion week she showed her love of Dior by stepping out with the Christian Dior Evening Minaudiere and you have to admire her outfit from head to toe.
Dakota Fanning has been one the hardest working child actresses of the past decade. In this decade, she’s emerging into a stylish young lady of style and substance. Her natural talent for picking beautiful ensembles is showcased with this outfit. Leather pants, black boots, blue coat, blue scarf and blue bag
The three different shades of blue are a pretty neat idea. The bag she used to complete the look is the Proenza Schouler PS13 Bag. We’re clearly moving on from the PS11 and PS12 now that the newer version is available and starting to appear on the high street. It has a new, fresh shape but is available in many of the same beloved bright colors. Something about this bag is so New York girl.
It must be the Christmas holiday spirit bringing out the sisterly love, as we are presented with yet another sibling-orientated magazine cover.
The Best Dressed special edition of Vogue featured Olsen twins Mary-Kate and Ashley on the cover with other famous sisters being honoured inside, but now it seems like that wasn’t the only December publication with the same idea.
Elle and Dakota Fanning (who both came second on Vogue’s best dressed list) look more like twins as they pose for Mario Sorrenti in Valentino Haute Couture on December’s W cover. And if we may say so, looking way older than their 13 and 17 years.
We’re glad to see the girls recognised on the best dressed list, as we noticed little Dakota’s fashion presence from a very early age.
“I was always into fashion because my mum has always been interested in fashion,” Dakota told W. “She majored in fashion merchandising in college, and it’s always been something we have in common. When I did that first campaign for Marc Jacobs, I really wasn’t old enough to wear the clothes. He made all the clothes from the runway in my size. I still have them.”
If Marc Jacobs custom-making clothes for you doesn’t scream fashion presence, we don’t know what does.
You can catch the rest of the interview and the stunning editorial pictures in December’s W.
I must be getting old if Dakota Fanning of all people is suddenly old enough to own her own Balenciaga. Last time I saw this girl she was wearing princess fairy dresses…now she’s carrying a slick Arena Giant bag around? Well, at least her taste is maturing. Though the handbag looks almost as big as Dakota herself, it’s a smart and stylish choice for any gal – a nice balance of versatility and trendiness. Love the gold hardware. Keep it up, girl.
