Michelle Tratchenberg looks like a sprightly 21 year old girl. Truth is, she’s youthful but has been around for a while. A teen star in flop films like Inspector Gadget, she is most well known for playing the younger sister in the cult favorite Buffy series and as the “one of the guys” girl friend in Eurotrip.
These days Michelle has just wrapped with Gossip Girl shooting and we’ve become accustomed to seeing her out and about on the town (NYC) dressed similar to her GG character, mean girl Georgina. When Georgina first showed up on the series, it was utterly delicious to see her in dark colors and luxe looking leather skinny jeans while the other characters were either dressing like over the top schoolgirls or as sparkly party princesses.
Here she carries a maroon leather bag by Tory Burch. Tory Burch is a known designer whose fame has skyrocketed in recent years because of her riche looking logo, well contrasting color combinations, interesting store bags and decor. Every girl wants a pair of Tory Burch sandals or TB handbag just to have a pop of color with a cute logo to wear. The funny thing is, Tory has also made a cameo appearance as herself on the TV series Michelle appears on (Gossip Girl) during an episode revolving around New York Fashion Week.
This burgundy leather bag is the kind that can add that color to a dark outfit and keep it from looking too “gothic.” The top handles also make it convenient to carry when you don’t want to shoulder strap it. While Michelle still dresses more like her TV character, we’re happy to hear her real life persona is a lot more amiable!
It’s the final season of Gossip Girl, ladies! That means this is the last year we’ll be receiving stills of the gorgeous Leighton Meester and Blake Lively shooting for the high fashion TV series. Both stars are fairly low maintenance outside of their roles as Serena and Blair, so we doubt we’ll be seeing these lovely ladies rocking the same level of trends after shooting wraps. The many designer items in their GG wardrobes is courtesy of many fashion houses that send things free of cost just to garner publicity. Not every starlet can afford a new bag a day or is interested in burning a hole in her pockets to do so.
The rest of us mere mortals like to awe in wonder in their hot off the runway accessories in the hopes of finding a *ahem* similar piece somewhere on the market. This colorful bag is the kind of piece you can find a budget version of without too hard a search. This one is the 3.1 Phillip Lim Small Lark Duffel.
It’s not the first time Blake has been seen carrying a colorful Phillip Lim handbag on the set of Gossip Girl…it seems the show’s stylists have a deep love for the designer. Also, this bag is actually from Spring 2012 but the stylists have chosen to have her carry it as they shoot for fall. Sometimes a bag is so cute that it doesn’t matter that it’s last season – even if you’re one of Hollywood’s hottest stars!
Judging by the way Leighton Meester playfully handled her Stella McCartney SS2012 bag while shooting scenes for Gossip Girl this week, she’s in love with the minimalist chic design of the purse. The gold chain strap makes the vintage-looking bag a little trendy and in line with Blair’s fashion sense.
The bag is just the thing you’d see fashionistas cavorting with on LookBook. Even Kate Moss is often seen careening through London’s trendiest districts with her favorite Stella McCartney black clutch.
This Leighton Meester high fashion look is sure to be copied this summer. The simple, sleek and elegant design of the bag make it one that can be carried well with any outfit – even this bright and fresh summery floral print by Peter Som for his 2012 Spring Summer Collection.
The Miu Miu Mary Jane patent leather pumps are just what the outfit needed to keep from looking too conservative — they add a certain oomph factor that prim and proper Blair is known for. It’s just another classic in Blair’s wardrobe – the put together society girl always manages to look sweet and vixen-ish at the same time. Kudos to Blair’s stylists!
