Could those Chanel ads have gone to Lily Allen’s head?

The talented singer told Radio 1’s Sara Cox today that her performance with Dizzee Rascal at London’s O2 Arena in March 2010 will be her last for awhile, the Mirror UK reports.

Allen is planning on taking at least a two-year hiatus from singing and songwriting.

With all her free time, the musician plans on pursuing fashion by opening her own boutique (and stocking it with Chanel?).

The singer and Karl Lagerfeld muse will also test out her acting chops and start her own record label, says the site.

Looks like the French fashion house is a breeding ground for those seeking style ventures. This former Chanel campaign girl is branching out with her own line.

Say what you want about Lily Allen, but at least the singer knows where her bread is buttered. The Chanel handbag campaign star gave the fashion house some free publicity by toting around a lovely black Chanel purse at a recent event. Her outfit is a little low-key and lackluster, but a great Chanel bag compensates for that.

Let’s see: black lace, sparkly leggings, a sequinned blazer, and a leopard-print scarf. Well, at least Lily Allen’s blue quilted Chanel handbag is classic. The Chanel campaign star hit the cricket matches in a typically unconventional look, but she knows where her bread is buttered. And I love that spring-esque blue shade – even if it doesn’t go with the rest of her look.

Eat your heart out, Audrey Hepburn. British crooner Lily Allen is doing her best Holly Golightly impersonation for the new Chanel purse campaign, which features a luscious array of puffy Coco Cocoon handbags. I love the ad’s black and white look (shot by Karl Lagerfeld, don’t you know), but what do you think about the bags?

Talk about traveling in style. The somewhat bizarre trio of Kate Moss, Lily Allen, and Kate’s rocker boyfriend Jamie Hince landed in France exuding indie Brit street cred. Jamie’s got his guitar case (and a killer blazer, by the way), Lily’s got her suitcase, no doubt packed with some Chanel handbags, and the lovely-as-usual Kate has her to-die-for Louis Vuitton Suede Asphalt handbag (me want now). I’m also loving Kate’s shorts and jacket combo – so chic, that one.
